Made by Lukas Veggie Burgers are ready to cook, no additional ingredients necessary. They can be shaped however you please, but to make basic burgers, shape the mixture into 4 patties, approximately 1/2 cup each. To make mini-burgers, shape mixture into patties about 2-inches in diameter, approximately 1 heaping tablespoon of mixture each.
You can cook the burgers in a skillet, in the oven, or on the grill.
Skillet: Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the burgers for 4 to 6 minutes per side, until charred and heated through.
Oven: Preheat the oven to 350° F. Arrange burgers on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until lightly browned and heated through.
Grill: Bring a grill to high heat. Firmly pack your patties. Brush each side of the burgers generously with oil. Grill each side for 4 to 6 minutes over indirect heat, until charred and heated through.
Serve the burgers on buns, in sandwiches, pitas, lettuce cups, over salad, or on their own, garnished as you please with your favorite toppings.
Some of Lukas’s favorite veggie burger toppings: Hummus, baba ganoush, tender sprouts and shoots, roasted red peppers, creamy cheeses like goat cheese and ricotta, pickled onions, srirracha, chili-garlic sauce, thin slices of cucumber or radishes . . . the list goes on.
Leftover mix can be stored in the refrigerator until the date marked on the package, or frozen for up to 2 months.
